A large collection of some of the most famous folk and operatic tunes from "lo Stivale," as it's fondly called, including "Oh Marie," "Santa Lucia," "Vieni Sul Mar," and "La Donna è Mobile." Played on accordion, guitar, and violin, there's a tendency for the songs here to be a bit over-affected and cheesy, only heightened by the dramatic nature of many of them to begin with, which makes everything seem rather inauthentic and produced. There are nicer budget Italian music compilations out there, better to let Legendary Favorite Songs of Italy slide.
