In 1977, Octobre signed with the major record company CBS, who released L'Autoroute des Rêves, the group's fourth studio LP, and the live album Chants dans la Nuit the next year. All the while, the budget label Total acquired the rights to the first three albums and packaged a two-LP collection titled Le Meilleur d'Octobre S.V.P. (Octobre's Best, Please). About half of the songs from Octobre, Les Nouvelles Terres, and Survivance have been included. The pressing and artwork were cheap, as could be expected. This collection remained in print only shortly and was not reissued on CD. Instead it was replaced by the more thorough two-CD set 1972-1989.
