The soundtrack to the 2001 film by Turkish-born but naturalized-Italian director Ferzan Ozpetek, Le Fate Ignoranti (translated as "The Ignorant Fairies" but also called "His Secret Life") helps to capture the overall mood of the film and reflect the themes of the plot (a woman discovers her recently deceased husband was having an affair with another man). With original music composed by Andrea Guerra, as well as three songs by Turkish singer Yasemin Sannino, two by the Italian Tiromancino, and one by Joan Baez, among others, the album is introspective and thoughtful but still contains undertones of warmth and even happiness, just as the film itself, despite its serious nature, also has many lighthearted moments. All in all relaxing and enjoyable.
