AllMusic Review by

Reggae legends Sly & Robbie weigh in on this installment of the LATE NIGHT TALES series. The 'riddim twins' know something about feel-good grooves, and they demonstrate their wisdom with this fine mix, which favors sweet, old-school soul (Al Green, Aretha Franklin, and Curtis Mayfield, among others) with dashes of hip-hop (Mobb Deep's "Quiet Storm"), electronica grooves (Seelenluft's "Manilla"), funk (Rare Earth's "I Just Wanna Celebrate"), and left-field rock (Ian Dury and the Blockheads' "Reasons to be Cheerful"). As if this eclectic grab-bag weren't enough, there's also a hidden cover of Madonna's "La Isla Bonita" performed by Sly & Robbie.
