Barely Pink sound like a group of Kiss and Cheap Trick fans who got together and recorded a blatant homage to their idols on Last Day of Summer. Most of the tracks are melodically and lyrically light odes to girls, rock & roll, and having fun, and while the songwriting isn't embarrassing, the lack of originality is. Barely Pink are nowhere near as good as their influences, and in fact , tunes as pedestrian as "Girl in the Crowd" and "Mood Meter Maid" may actually make you forget why you ever liked Cheap Trick in the first place.
