AllMusic Review by

With the plethora of Sweet collections consisting of alternate takes and rarities surfacing throughout the 1990s, it was only a matter of time until a live album appeared. Recorded live in Japan, 1993's LAND OF HOPE & GLORY: LIVE does an admirable job of capturing the British rock group in all their in-concert glory.

Though the focus is primarily on more obscure compositions such as "You're Not Wrong for Loving Me," "Lady Starlight," "Lies in Your Eyes," and "Man With the Golden Arm," a few certified early '70s hits like "Fox on the Run" and "Sweet F.A." are included, too. Along with their other live sets (LIVE AT THE MARQUEE, LIVE: ROCK N' ROLL DISGRACE, BREAKDOWN: LIVE, etc.), LAND OF HOPE & GLORY: LIVE is a fun document of Sweet on the concert stage.
