This two-disc set of performances of John Zorn's game piece, Lacrosse, is also found in his Parachute Years box set. The release consists of a number of takes, or outcomes, of two different groups of musicians performing this structure for improvisation. The first disc is from June, 1978 at WKCR in NYC. Heard are six takes on the piece, performed by Zorn, Mark Abbott, Polly Bradfield, Eugene Chadbourne, and LaDonna Smith, all ranging from six to 20 minutes in length. The second disc presents the original recording of Lacrosse that took place one year earlier in San Francisco. The musicians involved in this, John Zorn's first recorded work, are Chadbourne, Henry Kaiser, Bruce Ackley, and Zorn -- a lineup they dubbed Twins.
