Quite an eclectic package for a movie soundtrack, with each track more difficult to describe than the next. The Champs (who strangely call themselves C4AM95) take the best Iron Maiden riffs and extend them into an instrumental. Nebraska's Armatron rips through some brutal riffs, with lots of screaming, distorted bass. Impaled, meanwhile, actually breaks down the death metal stereotype, using fierce licks and amazing double bass drum to overcome the high cheese factor. On the opposite end of the spectrum are Euphone and Joan of Arc, who anesthetize the hardcore with their sensitive, but not quite shy, indie rock.
