Essentially this album functions as a Jorge Negrete best-of, even if it's missing many of his better songs, such as "El Jinete" and "El Charro Mexicano." But that's not the only problem -- there's not only a shortage of classic songs but also simply a shortage of songs. With only ten songs to offer, there's a lot of wasted space on this CD that could have been filled. So, yes, this is somewhat of a best-of, albeit a really shoddy one. You're better off going with something like the Lo Mejor de lo Mejor collection, which not only features his best songs but also gives you a comprehensive sampling of Negrete's output.
