On Kuchinoha, Hikashu vocalist Koichi blends Tuvan throat-singing (picked up during a stint in Mongolia) and Japanese traditions with avant-garde and rock leanings. The result is a record composed purely of improvised solo vocals--no overdubs, no effects, and no edits.
