AllMusic Review by

Earth, Wind & Fire's Philip Bailey produced both of the Kinsman Dazz LPs, which is why "Catchin' Up on Love" (written by Bobby Harris), sounds like Earth, Wind and Fire sideways, and backwards. Singing lead on the melodic mid-tempo floater was Wayne Preston, it was an immediate success, a scintillating guitar solo by Michael Calhoun Stewart, was like a cherry topping to the excellent production. The whole album had a vibrant, new feel about it; lead vocals were switched around on "I Searched Around," with Kenny Pettus handling lead vocals on a smooth, sumptuous ditty written by Calhoun. "Dancin' Free" was fast, juiced by a funky synthesizer, and punchy horns poking in and out the beat. A delightful first album, though skimpy, only six selections.
