AllMusic Review by

Though identified with the Southern rock of the 1970s, blues-rock guitarist Elvin Bishop rose to prominence with Chicago's Paul Butterfield Blues Band. On his own, Bishop combines blues, funky rock & roll, and a wee touch of country for a savory, good-time brew. This set was recorded live in Sacramento, California in 1976, as Bishop's hit "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" (with Jefferson Starship's Mickey Thomas on vocals) dominated the Top 40 airwaves. Also included are "Juke Joint Jump," "Rock My Soul," and more.
