In the mid-to-late '50s many of the surviving big bands (some of which were thrown together just for the occasion) were rerecording their hits in stereo or hi fi. Stan Kenton was no exception. This set is comprised of remakes of a dozen of his earlier recordings. Veteran tenor Vido Musso returned to Kenton for the album and he is the chief soloist although there are also spots for trombonist Milt Bernhart, trumpeters Sam Noto and Pete Candoli and altoist Lennie Niehaus. Among the selections are "Intermission Riff," "The Peanut Vendor," "Eager Beaver" and "Concerto to End All Concertos."
