AllMusic Review by

The fine print tucked away at the bottom of the cover on K-Tel Presents #1 Grooves of the 60's tells you everything you need to know. Instead of a really cool double-disc set that collects such classic pop tunes sd Tommy Roe's "Shelia," Lou Christie's "Lightnin' Strikes," the Dixie Cups' "Chapel of Love," and the Tymes' "So Much in Love," you get warmed over re-recordings that possess none of the youthful spirit and joy of the originals and that despite the regular presence of the original vocalists, for the most part sound like tepid karaoke versions. Avoid this disc like cholera.
