For this intriguing if not completely successful set, singer Bob Casanova performs live duets with pianist Connie Crothers. Casanova's voice takes a bit of getting used to and much of this music is taken out-of-tempo in a floating fashion. Such standards as "You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To," "Out of Nowhere," "I'll Remember April," and even "When You're Smiling" receive unusual treatment, with the set concluding with three free improvisations grouped together as "Spontaneous Suite." This CD is primarily for specialized tastes and fans of Casanova.
