AllMusic Review by

Rhino's Jukebox Jive is an entertaining collection of hit singles from the '50s and early '60s, including classics like the Beach Boys' "I Get Around," Chuck Berry's "Maybellene," Del Shannon's "Runaway," and Little Eva's "Locomotion," among others. The Rivieras' "California Sun," the Marcels' "Blue Moon," and Lou Christie's "Duke of Earl" keep the mood light, and indeed the album would be a very solid collection of singles if it weren't for the re-recorded versions of Bobby Freeman's "Do You Wanna Dance," and Joey Dee and the Starliters' "Peppermint Twist Part 1" that are included here. Two bum tracks might be enough for some oldies fans to put up with on a collection like this, but there are other compilations out there that feature just the original versions of the songs.
