AllMusic Review by Tim Sendra

Madacy's Jukebox Hits series is a cheap-looking and -sounding collection of re-recordings of hit songs from the '60s. The double-disc set of tunes originally released in 1965 has artists like the Gentrys ("Keep On Dancing"), Fontella Bass ("Rescue Me"), and Lou Christie ("Lightnin' Strikes") reprising their classics in less than impressive fashion. While they try to recapture the original's arrangement and feel, the diminished vocal powers and the rushed and mechanical nature of the music leave the disc just this side of embarrassing. The one or two actual original versions of songs sprinkled in do nothing to offset the feeling of distaste associated with this horrible collection. Madacy should really be ashamed of itself, and no one should even consider buying one of the entries in the Jukebox Hits series.
