AllMusic Review by

Starting with its sublime reworking of Southern rocker Tony Joe White's "Rainy Night in Georgia" and continuing through a subtly transforming version of the Meters' ballad "Heartache," the German remix outfit Boozoo Bajou's collection of rare grooves, reggae, and electronica has a decidedly summery feel. Their take on British reggae genius Dennis Bovell's "Rowing" wisely leaves the talented artist's original largely intact, and the Light Of Saba's "Lamb's Bread Collie" is similarly lightly treated. With the inclusion of grainy funk workouts like Four Hills' "DJ Day" and Hanne Hukkelberg's lilting electronic ballad "Cast Anchor," JUKE JOINT II is both a perfect summer soundtrack and an instructive sampler of some extremely hip music.
