This intense, melodic album combines punk energy and pop like nothing else ever to come from the hardcore haven of Orange County, CA. Singer and guitarist Greg Antista had a great voice and an unerring sense of pop dynamics, while bassist and vocalist Steve Soto had already proved his skills in Agent Orange and the Adolescents. Together with a tight-focus rhythm section, they turned out catchy punk-pop anthems that would have made this band famous if Johnny Bravo had been properly distributed and promoted. Alas, Doctor Dream released lots of records and had only a minimal promotional budget, so this excellent album is unjustly obscure.
