The soundtrack to Nickelodeon's computer-animated feature Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius features a somewhat random mix of teen pop and classic new wave singles, mixing songs like True Vibe's glossy ballad "I Can Count on You" with the Go Go's' "We Got the Beat." The album also features covers of new wave favorites such as Melissa Lefton's "He Blinded Me With Science" and No Secrets' "Kids in America"; while neither of them are as good as the original versions, they're still pretty entertaining. Aaron Carter contributes almost one-fifth of the soundtrack's music, including pop-rap songs like "A. C.'s Alien Nation" and "Go Jimmy Jimmy." Other highlights include 'N Sync's "Pop (Deep Dish Cha-Ching Remix)," the industrial/electro/teen pop collage of Britney Spears' "Intimidated," and Bowling for Soup's theme for the film. As befitting the film's relatively hip look, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius does a pretty good job of presenting cool music for kids.
