AllMusic Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine

MTV's deliberately low-rent replacement for The Hills celebrates its tackiness, so why should its soundtrack be any different? Released just before the start of the show’s second season, Jersey Shore Soundtrack pumps out garish neon club beats at a relentless pace, which is almost enough for a cut from the show’s DJ Pauly D to slip by unnoticed. Where The Hills always had an element of lifestyle aspiration, Jersey Shore is all about voyeurism, gawking at the gaucheness of the six-pack abs, orange tans, and ginormous breasts, all heaving through the flat screen TV. Without the visuals, Jersey Shore is a pulsating headache devoid of irony; you cannot smirk at this soundtrack, you have to give in to its proud bad taste.
