Yoshida Tatsuya of the Ruins joins Shibasaki Yukifumi and Takahashi Hideki to record what is without a doubt the most lighthearted of all the releases in Tzadik's New Japan series. This trio of clever singers -- called Zubi Zuva -- presents its own wacky a cappella takes on doo-wop, European fight songs, Gregorian chants, and more. Really funny, and at times flat-out ludicrous, Jehovah is no monument in music, but it is an irresistible addition to any collection that has room for the bizarrely unique.
