Part of a series of compilations by Medacy Entertainment that collect classic jazz songs around given themes or moods, it is difficult to see exactly where the producers were going with this volume. Regardless, though, it is a pleasant collection that ranges from the gentle, subdued version of "Beyond the Sea" performed by Django Reinhart to the brassy song "After You've Gone" by Count Basie and his Orchestra. There is a laid-back, somewhat romantic vibe that permeates the collection, but otherwise the music is pretty far-ranging. "Baby Won't You Please Come Home" by Lionel Hampton and Orchestra is a sweet treat and Sidney Bechet's version of "Mood Indigo" and Hoagy Carmichael's "Star Dust" are also highlights.
