J Posada is actually Joe Posada Jr., who despite being the only person pictured on the cover, sings lead on just two tracks, with the elder Posada taking the reins elsewhere. Posada Jr., in his early 20s when the album was recorded, has the benefit of recording his dad's catchy songs, but his vocals need some time to mature. With the accordion sound dominating in mid-'90s Tejano, the Posadas cut three conjunto-flavored tunes for this album, the best of which is "Vuela Paloma (Junto A Mí)" (Fly Dove Next To Me). They also cover Cornelio Reyna's "Tu Traición" (Your Infidelity). The album features a reggae cumbia and a few jazz rancheras, but the melodies and arrangements don't reach the irresistible heights found on Canción para Mi Padre.
