Some might mistake this first-name-only jazz singer for a woman because of the feminine quality of his tenor (akin to Little Jimmy Scott). His straightforward and romantic vocal style is pleasant enough, but can lean toward the more saccharine on tunes like "Taking a Chance on Love" and "My Romance." There are some nice arrangements and strong instrumental backing, but ultimately there is nothing remarkable about the disc.
