An interesting Talk Talk album originally released only in Italy and Canada. This album compiles five previously released 12-inch remix singles from the band, and also features "Why Is It So Hard," also heard in a 12-inch mix, previously only released on the soundtrack of Michael Apred's film First Born. For the most part, it is a good album, but as with most extended mixes, the tracks do tend to drag and can start sounding somewhat boring. The remixes of "Dum Dum Girl" and "Such a Shame," however, do stand up as individual tracks, and in these two instances create the feeling that the tracks had always been meant to be heard in this configuration, and sound edited on the original album It's My Life. This is a rare accomplishment in the world of remixes. The album also serves as a good collection for the fans who had not been able to track down, or bothered to buy the original 12-inch singles. Plus, the inclusion of the previously non-album cut "My Foolish Friend (12 inch Version)" (the seven inch is much better, tighter, and more enjoyable), and the previously mentioned "Why Is It So Hard" make it worth having for fans. However, this is not the best compilation for a casual fan to purchase to get a good overview of this brilliant band.
