Cecil Washington and the Texas Boyz of Dallas, TX, have long been considered one of the premier groups on the quartet circuit. Formerly known as the Mighty Supreme Voices, this aggregation brings together the vocal talents of the past and the new direction and vision of their powerful lead singer. Tight instrumentation and close harmonies have long been a tradition for this group. This concept is evident not only in their later works, but also going back to their stays on the J&B, Gospearl, and Plumbline labels, to name a few. Their ability to minister in song and relate to community and social issues is highlighted in their tribute to single parents, "Only the Strong Shall Survive," and the ever-present quartet call to maternal love, "Mama Prayed." While most of the lead vocals are handled by lead singer Cecil Washington, selections such as the tour de force "All of My Help" and "A Faithful Few" bring back the familiar combination of Cecil and Glen Washington. Impassioned singing and a combination of soul-stirring ballads make this recording a definite must for all lovers of gospel music.
