AllMusic Review by

While Italian Love Songs does indeed contain many of the songs that North American listeners will be most familiar with, not all of them are about love ("Santa Lucia," "Volare," "Funiculì, Funiculà," for example), which makes sense considering the male chorus that sings all but four of the tracks on the album ("That's Amore," "Vierno," "La Paloma," and the abruptly different "Ti Amo" are the lucky exceptions) sound as if they are just giving their best Italian accent instead of actually knowing what they're saying. The songs do all have that old-world Italian feel to them (accordions, mandolins, the occasional full orchestra), but it's much better to buy any Domenico Modugno or Jimmy Fontana greatest-hits collection than bother with this low-budget one.
