Eccentric British pop in the vein of XTC or Robyn Hitchcock, the Chrysanthemums are obviously fans of R. Stevie Moore's as well -- he guests on one track, and the fingerprints of his influence are all over Is That a Fish on Your Shoulder. The music is silly, bright and chameleon-like, taking detours into avant-pop to surf to even prog-rock and all the while keeping tongue firmly in cheek.
