For her set of unaccompanied solos, Jessica Williams mostly focuses on relaxed material, showing off her virtuosity and creative skills at slower tempos. Highlights include her interpretations of Rahsaan Roland Kirk's haunting but rarely performed "Black and Crazy Blues," Miles Davis' "Flamenco Sketches," four of her own originals (including "Holocaust Blues"), and two lesser-known Thelonious Monk tunes. Every Jessica Williams recording is well worth picking up.
