The thoughtful folks at Disney keep finding ways to not only entertain the kids, but to make their parents' jobs a bit easier. This interesting project finds author, educator, and singer/songwriter Patti Teel devising two musically enhanced routines to aid the getting-to-sleep process. The first is the "Inside out Blessing Game," designed for progressive relaxation, and the second involves creative realization. Using spoken words, she creates a turtle character named Nomi to help this happen, and she also does a little talk-sing to instruct kids how to stretch out to maximize the relaxing process. Her voice -- both spoken and singing -- is gentle and soothing as one might expect, and might even help the parents doze a bit and unwind from the busy day. Her two original songs -- "Count Your Blessings" and "Inside Out" -- are kindly and well-intentioned, but definitely designed for children and not adults who like music that presents any challenges. The enhanced CD features a sleepytime-tips video and the liner notes also have some suggestions for parents. Recommended for parents who have found counting sheep and singing "Brahm's Lullaby" ineffective.
