AllMusic Review by

By the time they recorded their second Columbia album (their third overall), the Heath Brothers had changed their personnel a little. Drummer Albert "Tootie" Heath had departed and was replaced by Keith Copeland, while Tony Purrone officially joined as the band's regular guitarist. Holdovers included Jimmy Heath (on tenor, soprano and flute, in addition to providing the arrangements), bassist Percy Heath, and keyboardist Stanley Cowell. In addition, this set often utilizes an eight-piece brass section. The material ranges from "The Voice of the Saxophone" (taken from Jimmy Heath's "Afro American Suite of Evolution") and Percy's "Move to the Groove" to Billy Strayhorn's "Passion Flower."
