AllMusic Review by

Duke Ellington wore a lot of musical hats, and all of them very well, as a composer, arranger, pianist, and bandleader, and he was also a very gifted and supportive collaborator, as this nice set from the joint labels of Starbucks Entertainment, Columbia Records, and Legacy Records clearly shows. Featuring Ellington collaborations with, among others, Ella Fitzgerald, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong, Mahalia Jackson, Max Roach, Charles Mingus, and Rosemary Clooney, it adds up to a delightfully sequenced 15-track introduction to Ellington's elegant world.
