AllMusic Review by

The tenth LP in Joyce/Ajaz's Claude Thornhill series finds the bandleader after Gil Evans and Lee Konitz departed playing some more conservative and commercial music than he had earlier. A remake of "Autumn Nocturne" is a near classic and it is interesting to hear these later versions of "Where or When," "There's a Small Hotel" and Thornhill's theme "Snowfall." But although such sidemen pass through the band as trumpeter Gene Roland, clarinetist Tony Scott and altoist Hal McKusick, the music overall (which has quite a few vocals by the Snowflakes, Art Brown, Russ McIntyre and Nancy Clayton) is rarely all that memorable.
