One of the leading garage-punk acts of the '60s, few bands mastered the fuzztone-filtered sneer as well as the Chocolate Watchband. Their swaggering blue-eyed R&B attack and high-attitude delivery made tunes like "I Ain't No Miracle Worker," "Let's Talk About Girls," "Are You Gonna Be There (At the Love-In)," and "Sweet Young Thing" hit singles in the '60s, and cult favorites when the garage rock revival took hold in the '80s. In the 21st century, a version of the Chocolate Watchband is still active, featuring original lead singer David Aguilar and guitarist Tim Abbott, who first began working with the band in 1967. I'm Not Like Everybody Else captures the sound of the Chocolate Watchband in 2015, featuring newly recorded versions of 13 chart hits and fan favorites from the group's salad days in the mid-'60s.
