AllMusic Review by

I'm in the Mood for Swing is a decent single-disc collection containing 24 hits from the big-band era. All of the recordings are the original hit versions, presented as recorded in glorious mono between 1932 and 1946. Among the highlights are "Jumpin' at the Woodside" by Count Basie, "Tuxedo Junction" by Glenn Miller, "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)" by Duke Ellington, "Stompin' at the Savoy" by Benny Goodman, and "Frenesi" by Artie Shaw. This ASV/Living Era compilation is a tasteful choice for casual listeners excited by the original swing era.
