AllMusic Review by

The second of two LPs recorded by pianist Jimmy Rowles (with bassist Red Mitchell and drummer Colin Bailey) during a two-day period in 1985 is actually slightly better than the previously released set (The Jimmy Rowles/Red Mitchell Trio) due to stronger material. Rowles explores such songs as "It Might As Well Be Spring," "I'm Glad There Is You," "The Lady's in Love With You" and Billy Strayhorn's "Blood Count." Mitchell sings "A Simple Everyday Blues in F" (one of his two originals) and Stacy Rowles sits in on trumpet and flugelhorn quite effectively on three of the seven numbers.
