AllMusic Review by

Born in Drumlish, Ireland in 1893, Frank Quinn emigrated to New York and worked as a policeman. At night, he fiddled and by 1921 "Patrolman Frank Quinn" was making records. His singing, fiddle and accordion make an instant time machine to a 1920's Irish house party. One cut was even made on wire recorded at a house in Detroit. Included on this disc are examples of the peculiar Irish scat-singing known as "lilting." I find especially appealing vocal duets with Nan Fitzpatrick, take a listen to "Going to the Fair."
