There is no apparent method to the nine tracks, recorded over a period of almost 11 years, selected for this budget compilation, except that they're all string-filled romantic ballads. "Walking My Baby Back Home" and "Funny (Not Much)" were singles chart entries in 1952; the rest turned up on various LPs over the years. There are some wonderful performances of Gordon Jenkins' arrangements of standards like "The More I See You," but the songs make more sense in the context of the original albums on which they appeared.
