Featuring members of Grails, Moss Icon, and Jackie-O Motherfucker, Holy Sons don't have a sound comparable to any of those acts, which is what might help them make such a refreshing, calm sound. The band takes equal parts Neil Young, Richard Thompson, and the already patented Film Guerrero sound and comes out with an album of 13 tracks of delicate beauty. Much of the music has the sparse feel of the desert, with every note gracefully laid down. While a bit more variation would've helped, I Want to Live a Peaceful Life hardly fails dramatically at any point. This is the type of album that will either tug mercilessly at the listener's heartstrings or miss him/her completely.
