Another spin-off from Blanco y Negro Spain's I Love Disco Diamonds series, I Love Synthesizer Dance -- or, as the cover spells it out, I Love Synthes12"er Dance -- is a multi-volume set that isn't terribly different from its parent series, what with its emphasis on European dance music released throughout the '80s and '90s that makes great use of synthesizers and drum programming. The first volume of I Love Synthesizer Dance stands above most of the other Blanco y Negro compilations because it contains a handful of early-'80s Italo-disco classics: Charlie's "Spacer Woman," Doctor's Cat's "Feel the Drive" and, to a somewhat lesser extent, Kano's "Ikeya Seki." Faxe's "Time for Changes" and X-Ray Connection's "Replay" are other highlights.
