AllMusic Review by

This is a good collection of songs by Ney Matogrosso, one of the greatest and most unique artists on the Brazilian popular music scene. It contains several excellent tracks, such as Matogrosso's beautiful interpretation of Cazuza and Frejat's great rock ballad "Poema" and a live version of the gentle and exquisite "Rosa de Hiroshima" that was originally recorded in the early '70s, when Matogrosso was the lead singer of the splendidly flamboyant and now legendary group Secos & Molhados. The subtitle of the album, "Tanto Amar," comes from the fine opening track (composed by Chico Buarque), which Matogrosso has turned into a languishing and slightly Latin-flavored delicacy.
