Tangerine Dream's experiments with vocalists have generally been hit or miss. Unfortunately, this collaboration with Chi Coltrane for the German television show Tatort falls into the latter category. Coltane for the most part ignores the backing arrangement, leaving a distinct impression that she and the band never played in the same studio together (which the band did do with some success with Jon Anderson on the Legend soundtrack). The lyrics, which are of the 'hit the road, Jack' variety, never quite rise above the curious verbiage that the title so well exemplifies. The instrumental version is somewhat better, although it does reinforce the notion that it was composed independently. The only other track, "One Night in Medina," would not have felt out of place on such Private Music-era albums such as Melrose or Lily on the Beach, but it is not enough to recommend this to any but the most insatiable fans of the artist.
