James Brown released I Can't Stand Myself When You Touch Me on King Records in 1968. The music is unquestionably some of the funkiest recorded by Brown. "I Can't Stand Myself When You Touch Me," "There Was a Time," "Get It Together," and the instrumentals "Funky Soul #1," "The Soul of J. B.," and, from the pen of Brown's mentor Little Willie John, "Need Your Love So Bad."
