Bob Marley's public domain recordings get pumped up electronica-style on Hyper Remix. Despite a few different tracks, the set is the same as Remix Revolution Greats on the generally goth and industrial label Cleopatra. The label's sour stable of artists seems an unlikely choice for remixing one of reggae's most effervescent artists, and most of their work here is uninspired. Kevin Haskins from Love and Rockets makes "Kaya" a suitably druggy trip, and Lee Fraser does a good job by keeping it simple on "Don't Rock My Boat." Elsewhere Marley's melodies prove strong enough to survive the Eurotrash beatings they by no means deserve.
