Anders Ilar continues his busy 2003 with the Hydro 12" for Shitkatapult, following the full-length Everdom (also for Shitkatapult) and a solid 12" for Audio.nl. The nine-minute "Hydro" has definite dancefloor intentions, with a pattering 4/4 rhythm beneath a handful of effects that nearly draw your attention away from the pulse. The other two tracks aren't quite as direct. "Mouthdry" is another production that would've suited mid-'90s Chain Reaction (albeit with a near-shuffle rhythm), while "Moth" trades in off-kilter programming and dense nocturnal hues (even by Ilar's standards). Pair these three tracks with the four that make up the Audio.nl 12", and you'd have a full-length that's even stronger than Everdom.
