If you don't strike gold and score a copy of the 11-disc House of Hits box set, which went out of print almost immediately after its 1990 release, there's still a slight chance that you'll be able to scoop up the volumes individually. Altogether, House of Hits is a phenomenal series, tracing the history of house music through its first several years. Each volume on its own is nothing to sniff at, so they ought to be snapped up immediately whenever they're seen. For the seventh volume, the series moves to New York, as it includes Todd Terry's "Bango (To the Batmobile)," Blaze's "What'cha Gonna Do," Masters at Work's "Dum Dum Cry," Bou Khan's "Magic," and Trak This' "I'm Happy."
