Guitarist Orhan Demir is a versatile player with an adventurous if somewhat dry improvising style. He records for his own Hittite label and sticks to performing his own originals. Demir is blistering on the opening "When You Aren't," lyrical on the ballads (including "A View From Above" and "Matador's Massacre") and is a pretty original player overall. This set from 1992 has some intense tenor solos from Francois Briere and fine support from bassist Thomas Orejnicki and drummer Perry Pansieri, with Demir (who remains obscure in his native Canada) being the main star throughout.
