AllMusic Review by

Vocalist Carrie Lucas had to endure some ugly gossip on the black music grapevine during the early '80s after she signed to Solar Records. She and label head Dick Griffey were dating at the time she signed, and it's easy to fill in the blanks. Lucas finally switched to the company's subsidiary label for this mid-'80s album, but wasn't able to generate much action beyond one low-charting R&B single. Lucas was never a soulful nor powerful vocalist; her best singles were demure, shy heartbreak songs, and she didn't get any good ones for this session.
