AllMusic Review by

Combining elements of country, R&B, jump blues, and western swing into an energetic bundle that formed the very template for rock & roll, Bill Haley and his band the Comets always recognized that it was about the dancefloor in classic sides like “Rock the Joint,” “(We’re Gonna) Rock Around the Clock,” “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” “See You Later, Alligator,” “Hook, Line and Sinker,” and “Rip It Up,” all of which are included in this two-disc, 60-track collection of Haley's best. He may not have invented rock & roll but he sure knew what to do with it.
